David Brewer will be continuing the implementation of our School Wide Positive Behavior Support System(SWPBS) for 2013-2014. The purpose is to reward students for demonstrating age appropriate behavior across grade levels, PreK-5. It is a systems approach for establishing a social culture and individualized behavioral supports needed to enhance an effective learning environment for our students.
At the beginning of the school year, all students will be explicitly taught the behavior expectations listed on the back side of this sheet. It would be helpful to us if you would begin to use the language on the expectation sheet in your homes. This way, our students will see a continuum between home and school.
We strive daily to develop strong, trusting relationships with students and parents. The SWPBS system establishes a common language, experience, vision, and values. We also believe it creates a safe environment where disruptive behavior is not tolerated. There is a reward system for students when they meet the expectations.
